Thursday, June 20th: Arrival & Grand Canyon Sightseeing
Flight included will be departing early morning arriving to Phoenix by mid morning. If you are planning your own flight, please arrive by 9:30am at the latest. Our drive to the Grand Canyon (3.5-4hr) will start upon arrival, stopping for lunch on the way. After checking into our hotel, we will start our scenic drive on the Desert Scenic Road, stopping at the watchtower to see the spectacular views 7,500ft above sea level. The remainder of the viewpoints will be on Hermit Road which has spectacular view points of the canyon. Our last stop will be an opportunity for a sunset view on the south rim.
Friday, June 21: Grand Canyon Angel Falls Hike
This morning will be an all day hike on one of the most talked about trail to the inside the canyon-Angel Falls. This trail descends to the Colorado River via Indian Garden. The elevation varies depending on how far you go down. We will go down to the 1.5mile mark and people want to they can continue to the 3mile rest house depending on how you feel. The hardest part is going back up, so whatever distance you choose, you must remember that going up in elevation is the most challenging. This will be an all day hike with a distance of 3-6miles round-trip with and elevation gain of 1100-2100ft.
You hike at your own pace on a very safe trail! After our hike we'll enjoy a well-deserved cocktail at the Bright Angel Lodge with fantastic views of the canyon.
Saturday, June 22: Antelope Upper Canyon & Afternoon Lower Canyon Kayak
After an early breakfast, we'll depart (2hr drive) to Antelope Upper Canyon~! Our "prime tour" (when the lighting is the best for photos) starts mid morning. Our guide will inform us on the Navajo culture, history of the canyons, geological information, and provide the direction for the best pictures on our phones or cameras. Our tour will finish around 12pm and after, we'll drive to visit Lake Powell Dam and have lunch.
By mid-afternoon we're off to visit the world famous Antelope Canyon from the water! Our 3hr guided kayak tour will start from Antelope Point launch ramp. On this tour, see the beautiful sunset colors of the Lake Powell while cruising under the deep canyon walls through spectacular scenery and to the very end of the Antelope Canyon. Opportunity for a swim too-
This is for all levels and no experience is necessary! Note: If you do not want to kayak, an option of a boat ride can be offered.
Sunday, June 23: Horseshoe Bend & Sedona
After breakfast we'll take a short drive to visit Horseshoe Bend. A very short hike (1.5 round-trip) off a highway will take us to the top of a cliff overlooking Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River over 1100 feet below. Horseshoe Bend is one of those wonders that was carved out over millennia by the waters of the Colorado River as it made its way down through Grand Canyon. After our visit, we'll drive to Sedona (3hr drive) and have lunch.
After lunch, we'll explore the Red Rocks of Sedona with the best viewpoints. We'll watch the sunset in Sedona before our drive to Phoenix airport (1.5hr drive) for your overnight flight departing at 11:30pm and arriving to NYC at 6AM.
